Cut-Off Marks Analysis Stream-Wise
Engineering Service Examination is conducted by U.P.S.C for five major streams of engineering. It consists of three stage cut-off for final selection.
STAGE-1: Objective (Max Marks: 600)
STAGE-2: Interview Shortlist (Max Marks: 1000)
STAGE-3: Final Selection (Max Marks: 1200)
CIVIL ENGINEERING
Cut-off Marks(Out of 600)
ESE Cut-off marks analysis for civil engineering gives a clear picture that shows gradual increase in the cut-off marks from year 2009 to 2013 for General and OBC Category. However, for SC and ST categories there is a decline in cut-off marks consecutively from last two years.
Cut-off Marks(Out of 1000)
Here we can see a zig-zag pattern in second stage selection. Small but there was a regular increase or decrease was noticed in cut-off marks for past few years but in 2014 engineering there was huge hype for all the categories expect ST.
Cut-off Marks(Out of 1200)
In the final stage selection, the cut-off marks keep on increasing in general but a small decrease was noticed in 2013 year, but then in very next year it was approximately increased by 40-50 marks for all the categories . ESE Civil Engineering stream have lowest cut-off among all another streams.
MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
Cut-off Marks(Out of 600)
In Mechanical Engineering, cut-off marks was increased by around 40-50 marks among all the categories in the year 2011 and then for next two years it was almost constant than again in the year 2014 there was a sudden increase in cut-off marks in the stage-1 selection.

After 2012 there was increase in cut-off for all the categories , which shows the increasing competition year by year in mechanical engineering.
Cut-off Marks Out of 1200
ESE Mechanical Engineering final stage cut-off analysis, gives clear picture that the passing marks increased to 16% approx for general category from year 2009 to 2014, meanwhile passing marks for ST category increased by 35% approx.
ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING

In the above graph for Cut-off marks analysis of Electrical Engineering. We can see the huge increase in the qualifying marks in year 2012 ESE exam for all four categories.

It is very clear that the average cut-off marks for all categories is increased by 35 % to 40% from the year 2009 to 2014.
Cut-off Marks Out of 1200
In 2013 the cut-off level came almost the same as it was in the year 2009. But the highest fluctuation was noticed in between year 2013 and 2014 for all the categories in Electrical Engineering.
ELECTRONICS & TELECOMMUNICATION ENGINEERING

When we take a look at Cut-off analysis for Electronics Engineering, we easily conclude that the after the year 2011 there is almost a fixed increase in cut-off every year.
Cut-off Marks Out of 1000
It is strongly suggested to appear in Electrical Engineering stream in ESE as Electronics Engineering has highest cut-off consistently from last five years among all the other streams and for all the categories.
Cut-off Marks Out of 1200
It is noticed that, Electronics & Telecommunication Stream is having the Highest overall Cut-off among all the other streams on the other hand lowest cut-off is noticed in the Civil Engineering stream.
