Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee

The Institute has completed 150th year of its existence in October 1996.The Institute offers Bachelor's Degree courses in 10 disciplines of Engineering and Architecture and Postgraduate's Degree in 55 disciplines of Engineering, Applied Science, Architecture and planning. Selection Procedure

• Regular candidate requires valid Normalized GATE marks and along with that the candidate needs to appear for interview/ written test.
• Those candidate who have B.Tech degree from IIT’s without GATE score are required to have CGPA 8
• Sponsored candidate are required to appear for interview/written test.

Important Notification

Points to be Noted for Admission in IIT Roorkee

• For admission in IIT Roorkee, direct counseling is conducted for the selection of some departments, eg. Mechanical department and for few other departments interviews are also conducted.
• For the interdisciplinary course (listed in the table), different streams are eligible to apply.
• At the time of counseling as per candidate’s rank (this rank is provided by IIT Roorkee itself)
• He/she will be called for interview/counseling and can chose specialization as per availability.
• If the candidate reserved the seat in counseling he/she have to pay the fee through bank demand draft on the spot. So it is advisable to carry demand draft along with you at the time of counseling.
• A candidate seeking admission to postgraduate programmes leading to M.Tech./M.Arch./M.U.R.P. degree is allowed to apply maximum for 4 departments.
• There is no age restriction for admission to a postgraduate programme.
